From free school meals to national theatre tour: Former Chapel-en-le-Frith High School pupil returning to High Peak with new theatre production
A man who grew up in poverty surviving on free school meals and charity donations is now a successful author and is returning to the High Peak to tour his first show.
Oliver Sykes grew up on Woodlands Road in Chapel-en-le-Frith and was raised by his single dad of Romani heritage. As one of six children money was tight and the family relied on food donations to get by.
